| About Ashin Das Gupta
|
| Ashin Das Gupta (b. 1932) took early retirement from Visva-Bharati as its Vice-Chancellor in 1990. He was at the time elected a National Fellow of the Indian Council of Historical Resear0ch. He has taught History at Presidency College, Calcutta, also at Calcutta University, Oxford University, the Ecole Pratique des Hautes Etudes in Paris, Heidelberg University, Germany, and University of Virginia, USA. He was the Director of the National Library during 1984 to 1990. |
